A Hint of Spring
Isaiah 55:10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
Its cold here today in Illinois. A couple of days ago it was near 50 degrees where today it is predicted to barely get out of the double digits. Even with the cold winter wind blowing and I can see flakes of snow, I know that spring is out there, even if only a hint. I see the cardnials and birds of feather surrounding the bird feeders. Taking baths on the warmer days in the water that has been provided for them. I see the tops of the crocus flower, begging for just a wee bit more sun and warmth to break away from its winter sleep. I’ve planted the seed of the crocus and I’ve been waiting for the earth, sun and water to do its part. To nourish that seed, to bathe it in the warmth of the sun and to wet the roots where they’ve taken hold, thirsty for life.
Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper [in the thing] whereto I sent it.
May we all plant the seed of God’s word and love into the hearts of others. Even if only a kind word or action. Then let God’s light in us warm that seed, let us nourish that seed with God’s word and lastly, when ready, let us lead those to salvation with the living waters of God.
